I know I haven't really said much on LFCA recently, but as your brother in Christ I have to speak up on this one dude. I know you prolly have a bunch of people after you for this action using the usual Romans 1 and OT rout, but I would like for you to consider something on a different perspective.

You know that the Bible is clear that Man is to worship God. The first commandment that God gave to his people was to have no other God's before Him. From this (and the many refferences in the Psalms that I do not care to quote) we understand that Man's primary purpose in life is to worship God. Now Sin is when Man does not worship God. In the same passage that is probably quoted to you, Paul talks about how sin is really starting at worship, and that either man will worship God, or the things god created, and that we can tell what we are worshipping by how we act and what we do.

Now my reason for bringing this up is this; I was not so shocked or stunned by your original statement (being gay), but more of the focus of your statements. Remember that if what you are doing is worshipful to God then it will show it in your reasoning, but unless I am mistake the reasons you gave were only because of your own choice and free will and because it was you. Forgive me for my pointedness, but every reason you gave was not out of worship to God (one of the reasons you stated for the existence of this site on the main banner), but instead of worship of yourself, and that my friend is sin regardless of if people hate or not. Yeah the homophobes can be a bit tacky and obnoxious, but they are right, this is not good dude. and as a whatever I am on the site, I must say that you are in the wrong, and therefore cast my vote as a no.

I will be praying for ya

When I evaluate this, I think of the time I learned about the dangers of eating pork.
Now, I had been eating pork for all of this time while the dangers are real, though I was unaware of them. When I was told about the dangers, I took this into consideration: will those dangers apply to me now that I know, as though they are now more real? I thought, "No, they won't, for even though I now know about the dangers, it doesn't eliminate the fact that the dangers were still there even when I was unaware. I was fine not knowing, so I will be fine knowing."
So, you running this forum with that status before, even though we were not all completely aware of this doesn't make it any different, to me, than it was when the other did not know about your lifestyle choice. Also: you founded this forum.
This is what I think of.
Josh, in my mind, you're still good to run this forum.

Josh you are probably the best at running this forum there is no reason why you should give up your role as Head Admin over the Fact you are gay, gay does not mean you are pushed to the side of society and be removed from a "high power" i.e. Admin to let a Straight guy take over, it does not matter if you are gay, bi-sexual or Straight, you should never be shunned for your own physical attractions to people of the same sex, its just a way of life. The bible is more of a guide line of life than "YOU MUST FOLLOW NO MATTER WHAT OR YOU HAVE SINNED!". as the bible was written so long ago things have changed, meaning that you can not follow the bible to every word, being gay is acceptable. if god made us all different and then God was the one that made us be Gay bi or straight it is not the fact we have decided this way of life it means we are just like everyone else and that gay does not mean you have to give up your position as head of a Forum.. even in life if you came out gay you would not resign from your post as head of a Company over that reason people would think that should not happen.

Josh dont think that being Gay means you have to ask people if they want you as head admin because they know you for you not who you like.

Jar of Clay why pray for Josh,? praying for him to change his ways? praying to take the sin of being gay away? Being Gay is not a Sin its a Gift.

"Homosexuality is God's way of insuring that the truly gifted aren't burdened with children."

Josh is one of the best people i have known, and just because he is gay does not mean he has to be treated differently. he is still a person to treat him with respect and dont think bad thoughts about him.

WE DO NOT CHOOSE OURSELVES IF WE ARE GAY STRAIGHT OR BI-SEXUAL WE ARE BORN THIS WAY.
(yep im gay aswell and i dont care what you people think thats not what matters.)

Yours
Daemonchilde

p.s. Josh you know that even though i have acted like a #### i still care about you no matter what.

As what Daemonchilde has stated seems the be the reining view taken by this forum I must ask that Josh please remove both my status as a devotional writer and my account from this website. I joined on and remain solid that the bible, and only the Bible was true and that we as Christians were to live under its instruction, not our own desires. I must be frank in pointing out that we can hardly assume to say we follow Christ when Christ based his teaching off of a literal interpretation of the original Mosaic Law, and ancient writings that we now call the Old Testiment. What is more, Christ took the original understanding of the Law and added onto it not just the outward actions that mortals judge, but also the motives and worship of the heart, showing that no one could claim to be right with God.

I must restate my own initial objection to Josh's original clause; the original hope of this forum was to worship God, that we cannot worship God when we assume to change his law to meet the whims of our own desires. This stands not as a personal attack to anyone who was either born a Homosexual or chose the lifestyle, this is merely how I stand on Gods word. I will not waste any more of your time with trying to persuade you to see the folly of taking only portions of God's word, as I know those words would be put on deaf ears.

Ok The Original hope of this forum will never change. we have no changed his law to our own desires because god created us as us meaning there is nothing wrong with gay people and you bye declining Josh as Head Admin is an attack on homosexuals because you do not believe Gay people can stand on God's Word like Straight people can... i am not taking portions of God's words. you are intertwining your own homophobic belief with the word of god, he made us as what he seems fit, Gay people should be allowed to do as they wish just like you straight people get to do what they wish, You believe Gay people are sinning, when gay people were born as gay people, they dont choose to be its what God chose them to be, you can't seem to get that do you?

You seem to not believe me in saying God chose us to bee gay not our own decision Josh has not done anything wrong he most likely hoped that his friend that he thought being on this forum would not let this get between each other, there is nothing wrong with being gay, its not our fault that we like people of our own sex. that is life get over it.. Josh has set this up not just for himself.. and just because he is different you should "crap" on him not wanting him to stay as head admin.

Jars of Clay you should be Ashamed of yourself!

thank you Jars Of Clay i understand where you are coming from. I also would like you to know that before i accepted my self as Gay i tried to kill my self multiple times because i couldn't get the thoughts out of my head and i thought God would hate me if i was Gay so i tried so hard to change my ways. And Jars of Clay i also want you to know something i learned through my walk in Christ that judgment falls to God not to man. We as Christians shouldn't judge our peers for there wrong doings if they are wrong doings at all. I tired to Change my self many times thinking i was not pure.... well after a while of my struggling i felt my connnection to God become small and weak, I read more into the Bible and actually joined a Gay Christian Web site, that helped a little but i was still struggling. it took me a while but when i finally came out to everyone things changed Both of the churches have accepted me for who i am one of the churches has asked me to join the praise team since i came out. Life has gotten better my connection with God has grown SO much since i accepted my self, i am now happy with my life and well while i was struggling with my gayness in the past i lost everything i cared about, out when i accepted it i have been blessed with the stuff i have been given in life, God is still working in me strongly Jars Of Clay and people all around me can see that. i am very sorry You don't like my Me being Gay but it has not removed me from God at all and well Hate of anything is not good Jars Of Clay and You need to not judge others or you shall be judged harshly your self in your life and after. I do understand where you are coming from and i am glad of your in put.

Love and god bless you all,
Joshua Patrick Hulford

poll - keep me joshua hulford head admin as a admin? Empty Re: poll - keep me joshua hulford head admin as a admin?

The world we live in today is full of sin. No matter where you look you can see it. Murder, rape, theft, child abuse and worse. I sit today before my computer truly astounded by some of the things I read here. Are we really talking about whether or not it is ok for one man to love another? Are people honestly going to condemn one another for LOVING? It matters very little if you believe homosexuality is a sin or not, it matters very little is you are a progressive Christian who believes that religion should change to adapt to a modern world or a fundamentalist who believes that every word of the bible is the word of God and therefore immutable. Anyone who chooses to stand in judgement of another for expressing their love, anyone who chooses to turn a blind eye to the horrors of our world and instead wastes valuable time to persecute someone for their feelings should be truly ashamed of themselves.

When the time comes it is God who will decide what happens to everyone who has ever lived on this earth, in the mean time it is not our place to make summary judgements on his behalf. You have every right to believe whatever you choose, but above all else the message of the bible is one of love. Endless love for all creation, between God and man, and between ourselves. If you don't approve of someone's life, or you disapprove of their actions then you should be loving them regardless having faith that in the end it is God who will make the final judgement.

Love, understanding, tolerance, faith. These words seem almost entirely alien to this debate, and to a lot of the people posting here. Pick and choose which parts of the bible's teachings you embrace and which you don't. Use the word of God to make another person feel small and unwanted, bend what is essentially a message of love among all peoples of the world into a tool of hatred and ignorance. You can quote, re-quote and misquote the Bible until the proverbial cows come home, and people will still disagree, but in the end take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror and ask, should I be casting the first stone at anyone? Should I stand in judgement of another human being just because they love someone? and above all else should I be doing all of this when I am faced daily with such horrendous injustices and suffering as we all are?

Joshua Hulford, I am new here. I have read around some of the topics and from what I can see, you are doing a good job of Admin. I don't believe your sexuality should have anything to do with whether or not you continue to do this job. The path you take in life and with God has no bearing on anybody else's relationship with God and their feelings should have no bearing on yours.

poll - keep me joshua hulford head admin as a admin? Empty Re: poll - keep me joshua hulford head admin as a admin?

Post  iamhere4you Mon Aug 17, 2009 3:49 pm

Allow me to elaborate on what the Bible is, Daemonchilde.
The Bible is not a "guideline": it is the Word of God. Saying that the Bible is a guideline and not absolute would be saying that God is one who has changed. "Yesterday, today, the same." Also, that would make God seem like a sort of adviser who does not do anything about the rules He has placed down.
God will never change. God is God, and God is not dynamic in any way, shape or form. What He says holds true no matter situation is being brought up.
God allows people to be homosexual, yes, but that does not mean that He agrees with the decision to be so.
If God says that it is a sin, it IS a sin, no matter what you may think, say or do to even attempt to alter that fact.
The only things that can be loosely interpreted are the parables that were told, and the only way that you should ever change the interpretation is to apply to it your life in a fashion that God sees fit.
Also, God gives gifts in spirit and talents, not in sexual status. There are five main types of gifts: materials, talents, administrative spiritual gifts, operative spiritual gifts and charismatic spiritual gifts.
The rules are the same, but since Jesus has come and died for our sins, earthly punishments are wiped away, for the ultimate Sacrifice has been made.
We can now make choices without fearing earthly punishments from God, though the punishments after mortal death—the spiritual consequences—remain the same: Heaven or Hell.
Homosexuality is a personal choice that is heavily endorsed and influenced by the spirits and principalities of impurity and by society. But we must also realize that there are many things in this world that we do by choice, and by this we should cast no judgement upon any one, for we all sin. Judgement is for God, and God alone. Let us love!
While I am against homosexuality, I will not allow it to change my view on the value or worth of that person. I am a Sola Scriptura Red-Letter Charismatic Christian, not a fundamentalist, homophobic and/or prejudiced Christian. I adhere to God's Will, and in that I am to feel and display gladly a universal, blind, unconditional love known as Agape.
I will say no more.
While I may not support it, I will love you people regardless.

Hey ya'll,
To be honest, I hadn't come on the forum for several months because I had totally lost the link to get here. =P But then Randal kinda reminded me a few weeks ago by mentioning this poll.
Anyways, I don't see the need for me to vote as I'm not a part of the forum anymore, and I pretty much am posting to let ya'll know that I won't be back much/at all as I'm pretty busy with school and such. So yeah, PM me to keep in touch if you want.
Bye everyone!
