Devotional on God's hope for hard tiems
Romans 8:26-37: "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For
example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy
Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in
words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the
Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers[l] in
harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that God causes
everything to work together[m] for the good of those who love God
and are called according to his purpose for them. 29 For God knew
his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son,
so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and
sisters. 30 And having chosen them, he called them to come to him.
And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself.
And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.
Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God
is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare
even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us
everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for
his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with
himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died
for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the
place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean
he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are
persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened
with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are
killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[n]) 37 No,
despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through
Christ, who loved us."
Devo start: So, in our hard times, the Holy Spirit pleads before God to help us, as He loves us, and listens the His Spirit within us. If we have God in our hearts, then who can take it out. In our
hardest times, God sends His Spirit to comfort us, and to help us
out. So just because we stumble, sin, or have a horrible thing
happen to us, does it mean Christ has forsaken us? No! God loves
us so much that He died for us just so that we could be right
before Him if we accept Christ. Life as a Christian isn't easy,
but int the end of the day, we look with all our soul for Hope,
and find it when we trust in Him. Does this hope come quickly?
Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. That is what faith is about. You
have to trust Christ in yoru hard times, even when it seems
impossible, so you can have this hope. God does not put hard times
on us. and we shouldn't blame him. Simply, this is the world we
live in, but God is gonna make it better for those who trust in
Him. Can you be saved by a Fireman if you simply sit in a house,a
nd don't trust him to take you out of the building? of course not.
The same goes for God. You may have a hard time believing in Him,
but God is not the cause of your troubles. It is simply an earthly
thing. I know all of you here and on CTF, and other places have
troubles, but listen. We are here to help you, but more
importantly God is. If you don't feel Him immediately on asking
help, just keep praying. He will help you on His time, and keep
trusting that, even when your mind tells you no, and the world
tells you to give up.
